Biography:
Alberto Pereira Abreu, mestre Euzamor, was born on January 13, 1962 in São Luis. He started practicing capoeira at the age of seven in the Madre Deus neighborhood of São Luis. His first mestre was Luciel Rio Branco Rosas, a sailor in the Brazilian Navy.
At the age of eight, in 1970, he met Anselmo Barnabé Rodrigues, mestre Sapo, with whom he trained capoeira until his death in 1982. With mestre Sapo, with whom he lived and trained for eleven years, he learned not only how to play the musical instruments of capoeira, but also the samba de roda, the samba duro and, above all, how to experience capoeira and respect the fundamentals of Angola. At the time, rodas were common in Praça Deodoro, located in the central region of São Luis, starting at 12 noon and never ending.
