Biography:
Augusto Salvador Brito, known in capoeira as Mestre Canhão de Bimba, began his journey in Capoeira Regional in March 1967, in Salvador (BA). Talented and disciplined, he became a direct disciple of Mestre Bimba, with whom he finished his training in 1970. He stayed in the Bahian capital until December 1972, absorbing the methodology, values and philosophy of Bimba's School.
At the end of 1972, Mestre Canhão moved to São Paulo, where he played an important role in the expansion of capoeira in the region during the 1970s and 1980s. There he worked alongside two key figures:
Mestre Onça (Airton Neves Moura) and Mestre Acordeon (Ubirajara Guimarães Almeida), as part of the Kpoeira Association. His activities took place in emblematic locations in the city, such as Rua Augusta, 1030, and Rua Maracatins, 1320.

With a solid career, Mestre Canhão has established himself as one of the important representatives of Mestre Bimba's lineage outside of Bahia, contributing to the formation of generations of capoeiristas and strengthening the Regional's presence in São Paulo.
