Capoeira Angola Center of Mestre João Grande Italy
Capoeira Angola is a traditional form of Afro-Brazilian dance-fight originally practiced by African slaves in Brazil. Its dual nature as both a dance and a hidden fight within the game creates a combination of attacking and defensive movements that use flexibility, agility, naturalness, and creativity, generating fluid and continuous gestures, always in contact with the earth.
The Capoeira Angola Center Italia amateur sports association was founded in April 2003 and aims to promote educational activities for teaching and spreading Capoeira Angola and other typical expressions of Afro-Brazilian culture, such as Maculelê and Samba de Roda.
The association is affiliated with the sports promotion entity UISP and is officially recognized by the "Capoeira Angola Center of Mestre João Grande" academy in New York.
