Mestre Marquinho is a distinguished figure in the world of Capoeira, originally hailing from Olinda, Pernambuco, Brazil. His journey in Capoeira began under the guidance of Mestre Sapo, a pivotal influence in his early years. In 2000, Mestre Marquinho began his training with Mestre João Grande, one of the most respected names in Capoeira Angola, marking a transformative moment in his life and Capoeira practice.

Mestre Marquinho's dedication to Capoeira transcends borders. His first international experience was in Germany, where he taught Capoeira at the Capoeira Angola Mãe Grupo of Mestre Sapo. His work there opened the doors for his continued journey in Europe, eventually leading him to Italy, where he made his home and continued to spread the roots of Capoeira Angola.

One of Mestre Marquinho's most significant contributions to the global Capoeira community came through his selfless commitment to Capoeira in Serbia. In the early 2000s, he began regularly visiting Serbia to give workshops, often offering his teachings free of charge. His dedication and love for Capoeira played an essential role in helping develop and nurture the Capoeira community in Serbia. Through his guidance, Capoeira in Serbia flourished, and today, the country boasts a strong and vibrant Capoeira scene with a remarkable level of expertise, thanks in large part to Mestre Marquinho’s efforts.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the art form, Mestre Marquinho was officially promoted to Mestre in 2024 by his mestre, Mestre João Grande, further cementing his legacy in the Capoeira world.
