My name is Julio Sérvio Coelho Serra, I was born in the city of Viana-ma on September 23, 1967.

I grew up in São Luis do Maranhão, and in the world of capoeira I am known as Mestre Abelha. I started practicing capoeira when I was 12 years old in São Luis.

In 1998, I went to Salvador at the invitation of Mr. João Pereira Dos Santos, the illustrious Mestre João Pequeno de Pastinha, who welcomed me into his home and trained me to become a capoeira Angola teacher at his academy (João Pequeno de Pastinha Capoeira Angola Sports Center) in Lago do Carmo, Forte Santo Antonio, naming my school (Cortiço do Abelha).

In 1999, Cortiço do Abelha held its first capoeira Angola clinic in São Luís do Maranhão, bringing its tutor, the illustrious Mestre João Pequeno de Pastinha, where I had the privilege of being recognized (as a capoeira Angola master) by him

. In 2001, I began traveling the world teaching workshops and giving lectures on capoeira Angola, including Brazil, Italy, France, Belgium, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Austria, Germany, and Greece.

2013 - I settled permanently in Athens, Greece, where I organized the Cortiço do Abelha Capoeira Angola School in Greece, Brazil, Italy, Australia, and France.
