Biography:

Mestra Gegê began her journey in Capoeira Angola in 1995, in Washington D.C., with Mestre Cobra Mansa. She spent 14 years in Bahia, living in Salvador, Valença, and the Maraú Peninsula, studying, practicing, and working with Capoeira Angola. She has a degree in Physical Education, training in Yoga, and is pursuing a postgraduate degree at the Federal Institute of Bahia in Valença.

As a member of the Aluandê capoeira group, founded in 2005 by Mestre Célio Gomes, she currently resides in Rio de Janeiro, contributing to the group's work. She also coordinates centers in Alto Paraíso, Goiás; Santiago de Compostela, Spain; Salta, Argentina; and New York, USA. Capoeira has fundamentally transformed her political trajectory, her self-awareness, and her personal development.
