Mestre Pernalonga, civil name Silvio Cesar de Santana, was born on December 13, 1972 in Brazil. He started capoeira at the age of 12, under the guidance of Mestre Carapau, in the Capoeira Angola tradition.
Throughout his career, he has established himself as an angoleiro, educator and musician, standing out for his attention to the fundamentals of the game, musicality and the transmission of capoeira's cultural values. In 1997, he founded the Nova Geração de Angola Group, which operates mainly in the ABC Paulista region, including São Bernardo do Campo and Diadema.
In addition to his pedagogical work, Mestre Pernalonga is recognized for his musical work within capoeira Angola, participating in recordings, meetings and events in Brazil and abroad. His presence at rodas, workshops and international meetings contributes to the dissemination of capoeira Angola and to dialogue between different capoeira communities.
