Biography:
Edson Moreira started practicing capoeira in 1970, through a cousin who was his master. In 1983, he participated in the founding of Grupo Iuna, which aims to promote and value capoeira angola as a cultural asset. He explained that, at the time, the group was started with the goal of researching capoeira angola.
In 2022, he received a doctorate from UFMG for his "notorious knowledge."
