Jorge Francisco Ferreira (Mestre Poeira)
Jorge Francisco Ferreira (Mestre Poeira) is a student of Mestre Roque. Poeira’s academy was located in a suburb of Rio de Janeiro called Padre Miguel. Mestre Poeira is known in the capoeira community (especially in Rio de Janeiro) as one of the earlier capoeira teachers whose group in Padre Miguel helped shape local capoeira culture in that part of the city. He is cited in narratives about Mestre Pantera’s early training, indicating that Poeira taught and influenced others who later became significant figures in Rio’s capoeira scene.The academy was named “Grupo de Capoeira Pantera.”
