Biography:

Mestra Alcione began her journey in Capoeira Angola in 1992, as part of Grupo Iúna (Mestre Primo) and later joining Associação Cultural Eu Sou Angoleiro (Mestre João). In 1997, she joined the first formation of Associação de Capoeira Angola Dobrada (ACAD) in Belo Horizonte. During this period, she lived in countries such as Germany, France, and Italy, taking Capoeira Angola to different corners of the world, as well as participating in national and international meetings.

In 2006, she received the title of Contramestra and, in 2017, the title of Mestra, from Mestre Rogério and Mestre Índio, becoming the first woman to receive these titles in Minas Gerais. In 2018, she inaugurated the Espaço Sociocultural da Floresta (Forest Socio-Cultural Space) and, in 2019, she founded the Grupo Candeia de Capoeira Angola (Candeia Capoeira Angola Group), where she continues her work to this day.
